The boc drum is of the percussion instruments of Viet people.
Different from other drums, the boc drum is a single head drum covered with leather with the diameter of about 10 cm.
The bottom of the boc drum is open with the diameter of about 15 cm. The drum frame is made of hard wood, which is painted red and decorated with patterns. It is about 6 cm high.
The drumstick is made of hard wood lathed roundly (one big end and one small end), which is about 30 cm long.
The sound of the boc drum is dull and little resounding. The bộc drum is used in the octet orchestra.
Performance pose: The performer stands and holds the drumstick with his right hand (he wears the drum at his waist) or sits in the cross-legged way on the mat (the drum is put on the mat).
