The ban drum belongs to the membranophonic instrument of Viet people.

The ban drum is the membranophonic instrument of striking branch created by Vietnamese people.

The ban drum is a flat drum with the diameter of about 30 cm. Two drum heads are covered with leather. The drum frame is made of wood 10cm high.

The sound of the bản drum is aloud and resounding.

The ban drum is played with two wooden sticks.

The ban drum is usually performed in funerals or sacrifice orchestras.

A set of the ca rung drum includes four ban drums, one khau drum, one gong, and one big drum for keeping the time with the sound “rinh, tung, rinh”, which is used in processions and festivals.
