Vietnamese Stage Day announced

The twelfth day of the eighth lunar month is chosen as Vietnamese Stage Day, according to Announcement No. 363-BT/TW approved by the Central Party Committee’s Secretariat.

The day aims to honour Vietnamese stage artists

This is a day to honour the Vietnamese stage arts and artists and encourage them to create more high-quality works to promote the treasured tradition of the theatre arts for the healthy and varied spiritual life of society.

According to the announcement, the Secretariat requested the Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association set up a detailed action plan and implement it effectively in order to advertise the country’s stage arts nationwide, especially to remote and ethnic minority areas. The association was also asked to co-operate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to raise the effectiveness of its activities.

The association will also accelerate the development of theoretic work and criticism through seminars on the direction of development for each genre of stage arts in the future.
